Originally, I thought it would be fun to share all the details about building a publishing company from the ground up. Over the last month, however, I've discovered a few things:
There's a lot of paperwork involved in starting a new business. Licenses and permits for state, city, and county; tax forms; fictitious name form; forms when opening a business bank account; forms to reserve a domain name; forms, forms, and more forms. And I haven't even started filling out forms that pertain specifically to each book we publish. I expect forms will be a big part of the rest of my life.
The minutia of starting a business is boring. You really don't want to hear about it. If there's something specific you want to know about, just ask and I'll tell you.
Suffice to say, many forms have been successfully filled out and filed, and many more are to come. Even better, many amazing novels are coming. Just twenty more days and we're open for submissions. Now THAT'S exciting!
